Trade Union Week is Back for 2026

Better in Trade Union Week is Back!

We’re proud to mark Better in a Trade Union Week 2026 from Monday 27 April to Monday 4 May. This annual week of action and celebration highlights the power of collective action through union membership.

Throughout the week, Fórsa branches will be hosting a wide range of events across the country.

From stalls, coffee mornings, webinars, meet and greets and more, members will be coming together to share their experiences and help the trade union movement grow even more. Better in a Trade Union Week is an opportunity to show your colleagues how a union directly impacts working life: increasing your pay, better terms and conditions, and standing up for each other. You’ll find photos live from events here.

Everyone gets A Better Deal when we work together.

This year, it’s also a time to focus on building support for A Better Deal campaign ahead of the public service pay deal negotiations. Every single pledge from union members shows the Government that workers’ are demanding pay increases that address the cost of living, a fairer work/ life balance, and investment in public healthcare and housing.

All members are encouraged to get involved in local events, bring a colleague along, and take part in the national May Day demonstration in Dublin City. The event will start at 6:30 PM at the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Place, Dublin 1. This year’s theme is “Can You Afford to Live?” highlighting the immense pressures faced by workers during the ongoing cost of living crisis.

Whether you’re a long-standing activist or new to the union, Better in a Trade Union Week is for you.

And remember – workers are the union. It’s your collective power that wins for workers, and for each other.

Join a trade union that wins – Join Fórsa!
