Last week’s European Commission recovery proposals and the approach suggested by its two most influential members, Germany and France, suggest the EU response to the coronavirus-induced economic crisis may be much more positive than 12 years ago. Fórsa general secretary Kevin Callinan says an incoming Irish Government must also avoid the poor domestic political choices that could hurt ordinary workers and their families.
