As a public sector worker, you deserve a better deal. Better pay, better conditions and a fairer work-life balance.
Right now, for so many of us, life is getting harder. We’re faced with:
- The rising cost of living made worse by ongoing inflation and the end of cost-of-living supports.
- Attacks on flexible and remote working as employers seek to reverse the only positive benefit of Covid.
- A crippling housing crisis and a health service stretched to breaking point.
But did you know that there is a way to change this? Your pay and working conditions are set by Public Sector Pay Agreements (national pay agreements). And the current deal runs out in 2026.
That’s what this campaign is about. Because before new negotiations with government begin, you can join your colleagues in the campaign for a better deal.
The campaign has four main aims, all coming directly from you and your colleagues in Fórsa through surveys on what’s most important to you all. These aims together make up the Better Deal Pledge.
The Better Deal Pledge
I will only support a Public Service Agreement if it provides for:
- Pay increases that address the cost of living.
- Resolution of local bargaining claims.
- A fairer work-life balance through agreed policies on flexible work arrangements, remote working, and a shorter working week.
- Targeted investment in public healthcare and housing.
The pledge isn’t just a statement. It’s a way for us to show our strength, workplace by workplace. It’s a chance to show that you won’t accept less than a deal you deserve.

By joining this campaign, you can take an important step towards building power and send a message demanding a better Public Sector Pay deal.
Start by talking to your colleagues. Become active in your branch. Recruit someone new. Raise the issues that matter to you – from better pay to better work-life balance, to properly funded public services.
